This project was designed around a simple idea: create structure, shade, and privacy — without forcing the space into something it wasn’t.

The existing layout was not a perfect rectangle, which meant a standard pergola would have felt disconnected from the home. Instead, we designed a square cantilever pergola that works with the space, not against it — creating a clean, architectural look that feels fully integrated.

To address the client’s top priorities, we focused on three key elements:

Privacy
The layout and positioning were carefully considered to create separation from neighboring views while maintaining an open, breathable feel.

Protection from Heat
We reduced the spacing between the louvers to increase shade coverage, helping to significantly cut down direct sun exposure and make the space more usable throughout the day.

Custom Look
Finished in a matte black, this pergola was designed to seamlessly match the home’s exterior. The cantilever structure adds a modern, elevated profile — giving the appearance of a floating cover while maintaining structural integrity.

Every component is finished with a specialized powder-coated aluminum, providing long-term durability, resistance to weather, and a clean, low-maintenance finish that holds its color over time.

The result is a fully custom outdoor structure that not only solves functional challenges, but enhances the overall design of the home — turning an irregular space into a refined, intentional extension of the living area.
